adoption

Here is the latest!

Hey Gang! I hope your 2008 is full of great memories through both Trials and Triumphs! And I hope your 2009 is blessed and very prosperous!

A few folks have asked how things are going with our adoption. You can read the latest at TheKatieCarman.com!

Others have asked me recently how things are going professionally? We have had a blessed year. There has by no means ant fat in it all, but God has been faithful! I told a friend tonight that “Hey, all bills have been paid for 2008, and last I checked, nothing was due tomorrow!” We cannot imagine some days how God pulls it off, but He always has as we continue to work away. Tat being said, I also mentioned that if anyone knows of someone looking for a Realtor or Auctioneer, now is a great time to pass out the name and number! Word of mouth is HUGE in my line of work. We also appreciate all prayers and encouraging words. I have begun a specific marketing plan that we are excited about. SO as it begins, feel free to pray that it finds its way to do what God wants it to and leads us to those opportunities for the kingdom sake!

Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Gang! As part of our Auction the other night, Logo My Stuff and owner Roy MacDougal, had generously donated some Hoodies and T-Shirts. We have several left, so, we thought we would offer them to you here online. They are Gildan Hoodies and have some really cool designs on them. I figured we would offer them in stages.

The first one is a chocolate hoodie with one of FollowMeTees Designs. We have SIX of these hoodies in size M.

The Next one is an Alpha Omega Design. I have one Medium and One 4xl.

WE ARE OFFERING THESE FOR $18 which includes shipping !!!!!!!!!! SEE KATIE’S BLOG FOR TWO MORE COOL DESIGNS AS WELL!

They will be sold on a first come first serve basis. ALL monies will go to the adoption fund. You can place your order buy emailing Katie, sharpkiddo@gmail.com

Well, last night was our long awaited Benefit auction. I had been in class all day yesterday for my Auctioneers license in KY. I came screaming home and made it to the church at 5:15 or so. Thing was, I was driving in the snow showers (which means lock down in TN for some reason.)

Due to the weather and finding out later that three local elementary schools had their Christmas programs last night, we did not have a sufficient crowd for an auction  (about 10 people). Therefore we canceled the auction and allowed folks there to choose any items they wanted! Lo and behold, we raised $1947. Amazing!

We do have some items left and Katie and Brea will be handling those via ebay and Craigslist. We are EXTREMELY thankful for what God has done so far and for what people have blessed us with.

Also, in the very near future, Katie and I will start doing all our adoption blogs over at TheKatieCarman.com. SO watch for the announcement of the move!

Yes, I know it is cold and rainy. Christmas has just about got you down form all the running around. So, that is why we are offering this great opportunity to grab some great and unique stuff at an indoors auction! Check out this post by Brea Freeman and come see us Thursday night!

It is coming around the corner and fast! It will be December 11th before you know it! That is the day for the:

Bringing Home the Children Benefit Auction!

The sale is going to be at The Church at Indian Lake in Hendersonville TN. If you work at a company or know of a place that would be interested in making a donation (gift cards, certificates for service, gift baskets, etc) please let Katie Carman (sharpkiddo@gmail.com) or Brea Freeman (breagirl@aol.com) know. They are doing a great job gathering up donations, even though our economy is somewhat interesting.

If you have some nice items you would like to give personally, you can let them know and we will arrange to come get them as well!

Thanks for all your help! This past holiday and the one coming up are great reminders of the fact there are millions of children who will not know the joy of the season till someone opens their home to them! Continue to pray for us and other families who are taking this leap of faith! You guys are great!

AND COME TO THE SALE ON THE 11TH AND GET SOME GREAT CHRISTMAS GIFTS FROM LOCAL PROVIDERS!

Hey Gang! I just wanted to let you guys about two separate ways we are raising funds for our upcoming adoption. To give you a little update what is going on. We have made our application and were approved. We have done our physicals and filled out our contract with CWA. Our next steps include our first payment to CWA and have our home study done. We have sent in our paperwork to America World Adoption Association for our home study. We are currently waiting for the updates from America World for when we can schedule the study.

Our two upcoming events are as follows:

1. On Thursday, December 11th, at 6pm, we will be conducting a benefit auction for the adoption expenses. Katie and Brea Freeman are currently calling all around the area collecting donations and gift cards for this sale. If you would like to help, you can do so by either 1) letting them know of some place they can call or 2) you can donate items to this auction. I have had a few people already call wanting to donate some things. We will schedule with you when we can get the items. Storage is fairly small for the sale, so we may have to come that day to get the items. We are very appreciative. We will be having the sale at The Church at Indian Lake on Indian Lake in Hendersonville. They have kindly donated their building for the sale.If you would like to donate something for the auction, please contact Katie at 615-517-4488!

2. Katie is currently raffling off a Webkins Basket (see picture below) For $5 a ticket, you can enter your name for this raffle which includes 6 Webkins and a Beautiful Longaberger Basket. The Webkins are a Persian Dog, a Googles, a Reindeer, a Golden Retriever, a Black Cat, and a Love Frog (valentine special). The Basket is a rare, hostess only basket that is not offered anymore. It is a sewing basket with three stackable protectors and liner with lid. Just click the donation link above and send in your money for the tickets. The drawing will occur the night of the 11th right after the auction! Buy your tickets and Good Luck!

Thanks again for all your help! We are super excited! Help us by spreading the word! There are over 150 million orphans in the world today! James 1: 26-27!
